FC Barton Leverkusen

In its inaugural season, FC Barton Leverkusen, managed by Dean Porter play in the Yeovil & District Football League, Division II at Barton St David playing field The majority of players are local or have a local connection, making this a real village team.  Sponsors of the team include Westfield Dairies and The Barton Inn.  Advertising and Sponsorship opportunities are available; to discuss options please contact the Club Secretary at fcbartonsec@yahoo.co.uk

Leverkusen is from the German Team Bayer 04 Leverkusen, and FC is from FC Barcelona.  In the summer the players were asked for team names, these were then put in a 'hat' and the name drawn.  I have got used to it now, although telephone calls are quite long by the time I have announced 'Carrie-Anne, secretary of FC Barton Leverkusen, good morning'!!
